This one tool will allow me to wear my hair curly and to be happy with the final result. I have struggled with getting height at my roots forever. This is the first thing I have found that actually works for me. I think it’s key to remember that you slide it in turn at a quarter turn and lift up and dry if you try to wrap your hair around it, it will just fall back out. I do think the price is high, but based on the way it works I’d be willing to pay more and I do think the design could be improved if they would put a flat side on the handle so it doesn’t roll everywhere.

Wow, if any of you have curly hair and have struggled with blow drying your hair upside down to get a lift, you have to try this. FIRST, it took me a few times to know how to use it. The first time I tried it, I didn’t get the results I was looking for, so I put it away. But then I started thinking about how much I paid for it, and I made my self learn. If you use a diffuser, first dry your ends a bit, and then a few flips side to side to maybe 50% dry, then I go for the styler. I start at my part with the styler pointing to the back of my head. Grab your bang area and twist it a bit towards your ear. I use a sock diffuser for this, because it keeps the dryer more concentrated on the area I want the lift. This little gadget is exactly what I needed. I am tired of clipping my roots and creating these unnatural spikes and shapes with my roots. Ven if the roots were elevated, the wet curl would just fall straight from the clip, so they’d still end up flat.But this thing gave me real body and height. It keeps my curls off my face. I had success my first time using it. It’s very easy to use. I was afraid my hair would tangle in it or it would pull apart my curls but it didn’t.Yes, it’s expensive. Is the tool itself - it’s labor and materials - worth $50+? Nope. But the value it delivers in terms of solving my problem definitely is worth it.

It took me a few looks to convince myself to purchase this but I'm so glad I did. It really does give tons of lift to the top of my head where my fine hair curls drop flat. Using a bit of gel along with a diffuser (low setting, warm heat) keeps the lift until my next wash day which could be three days later or more. It's so much quicker thank the clip method I'd been using for years. The styler material is really strong - some type of plastic resin. I've dropped it on the floor a few times, even on tile, and no damage. The prongs slide right in to my hair and it's super easy to remove the styler without pulling out any curl. I've dramatically cut down on the number of tools I need to travel to do my hair since using this too; just the styler and and small teasing brush for my bangs. Bonus

I have been thinking about this review for days. This review is very thoughtful and honest. Product is lightweight, easy to use and will give you some volume. I think you can easily get the same volume by drying you hair while your head is upside down. I have a cowlick at my crown and this has helped making it less noticeable. I think this is worth about a $15 price tag. If I had to make the decision to purchase today knowing what I know now, I would not purchase it.

First...I was looking for a thin barrel curling iron to give me lift on top when I saw an add for this tool.I thought it was expensive, BUT worth it.This tool won't damage my hair like an iron will.Sometimes I don't use any product, just heat, then cool, then a shot of hair spray!My ONLY complaint...it needs a flat spot so it doesn't roll away. My solution is a ponytail band on the counter and then lay the tool in the middle.I took this to the salon yesterday for my designer to play with and she loved it. Said my ends stayed curled, and just the top lifted. I'm sure she'll be getting one of these too.For those looking at other 'versions', don't bother. they have small teeth that will ruin the rest of your curl when you go to slide it out of your hair. I saw the AuBonacci Styler on Instagram and was immediately intrigued. I have long, fine, wavy hair that tends to go flat on top, so this Styler appeared to be THE THING I was looking for. Because of the high price, I was hesitant, so I read the reviews and thought about it for a few days before placing my order.I’ve been using the Styler for a few weeks now, and I have no regrets. It has taken a little getting used to, but I do like that I can curl hair on top of my head, like I would with a round brush or curling iron, yet pull the Styler out quickly and easily without unraveling the curl. It's well made but pretty pricey for what it is. I thought most about it was very smart, that your curls don't get caught in it like clips. Sadly I have tried it every which way & any root curl it gives me for a few minutes just falls out. Maybe if the prongs were metal it might be better, but I wait for the curl to cool before sliding the tool out. It holds for a bit but then just falls out. My roots have always been hard to get volume to, but I really hoped this would help. It does a bit to get hair off of my scalp, but no more than I get with long metal picks like I currently use. Kinda disappointed.
