Reseña del editor GUYS ON ICE has been performed in California, Oregon, New York, West Virginia, North Dakota, Massachusetts and Michigan, in addition to hundreds of sold-out performances throughout Wisconsin. The composer of GUYS ON ICE is JAMES KAPLAN. A New Jersey native, James wrote the music for such American Folklore Theatre hits as LOOSE LIPS SINK SHIPS, THE BACHELORS, GUYS ON ICE and LUMBERJACKS IN LOVE. His music also appears in PACKER FANS FROM OUTER SPACE, BONE DANCE, BELGIANS IN HEAVEN and YA YA YOU BETCHA! James also arranged the music for several AFT revues - GOODNIGHT IRENE, HARVEST MOON, OLD FRIENDS and SWEET BABY JAMES. He is currently at work on two new musicals, one with long-time AFT company member Laurie Flanigan, and one with Chicago writer Dave Hudson. The Book and Lyrics of GUYS ON ICE were written by the late Fred Alley. Fred was the co-founder of American Folklore Theatre in Door County, Wisconsin, where he created dozens of shows. He was the original Lloyd in GUYS ON ICE and his beautiful voice is heard on this CD. Fred also wrothe the musical THE SPITFIRE GRILL, (with James Valcq) which premiered at Playwrights Horizons in New York in 2001. His shows are being performed regularly all across the United States.
